Belvia Elnora Cheek, 97, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Marble Hill died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center. She was born April 11, 1902, at Shrum in Bollinger County, daughter of Columbus Marion and Alice Mae Huffman Robins. She and Clarence "Ed" Cheek were married April 11, 1920, at Shrum. He died Aug. 25, 1965...

Belvia Elnora Cheek, 97, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Marble Hill died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at the Beverly Health and Rehab Center.

She was born April 11, 1902, at Shrum in Bollinger County, daughter of Columbus Marion and Alice Mae Huffman Robins. She and Clarence "Ed" Cheek were married April 11, 1920, at Shrum. He died Aug. 25, 1965.

She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church at Marble Hill. She was also a volunteer cook for the Bus Ministry of the New Salem Baptist.

Survivors include a daughter, Elsie Mouser of Morley; a son, Earl A. Cheek of Morley; a sister, Norma Campbell of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel at Marble Hill and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at New Salem Baptist Church in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Revs. Randy Poole and Charlie Shrum will officiate, with burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery.
