Beatrice P. Margrabe, 82, of Cape Girardeau went into the arms of Jesus to join her husband and family Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Chaffee, Mo., to Herbert Lee and Nellie Skelton Houseman. She married Herman J. Margrabe May 7, 1948, in Chaffee. He passed away Sept. 19, 2000.
Beatrice lived in Chaffee most her life and worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau for five years. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Beatrice was very fond of her travels to Europe, Hawaii and Mexico. She enjoyed everyone she met while residing in Saxony Village and the Lutheran Home.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Pat (Danny) Burger of New Hamburg, Mo.; grandson Matthew Burger of New Hamburg; grandson Blake (Kim) Burger and their daughters, Macy and Mallory, all of New Hamburg; a granddaughter, Lyndsey (Justin) Mosby and their sons Blake and Easton of Benton, Mo.
Also surviving is a son, Larry Margrabe of San Antonio; a granddaughter, Jodi Margrabe and her sons, Dustin and Justin Deen and Steven Margrabe, all of Sikeston, Mo.; grandson Eric Margrabe of Sikeston; a brother, James Houseman of Springfield, Mo; a sister, Juanita Tanner of Arizona; and a special cousin, Kathleen Whitling of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandra Kay Margrabe; four brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating.
Interment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Burger, Blake Burger, Justin Mosby, Eric Margrabe, Justin Deen, Dustin Deen, with honorary pallbearers Steven P. Margrabe and Steven A. Margrabe.
