JACKSON -- Funeral service for Barney R. Mullinax of Jackson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bill Ellis will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Mullinax, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 1994, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 10, 1913, in Gadsden, Ala., son of G.L. and Dora Haynes Mullinax. He and Wilma J. Wolters were married June 28, 1947. She died Oct. 20, 1977.

Mullinax had owned and operated the Amoco Service Station on Broadway in Cape Girardeau. He also worked at Deal Nursing Home a number of years. He was a member of Excelsior Lodge 441 and Order of Eastern Star No. 90 in Jackson.

Survivors include a brother, Ed Mullinax of LaGrange, Ga.; two sisters, Margaret Ford of Huntsville, Ala., and Louise Mullinax of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
