Barbara N. Stribling, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at The Chateau in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Hershel and LaVaughn Anderson Beauchamp.
Barb dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). During her professional career, she worked for the State of Missouri, the Community Counseling Center, the Gibson Center, and had her own private practice, as well. She had a great love for all living things, people and animals alike. During her lifetime, she provided a loving home to many rescue animals and was a passionate supporter of the local Humane Society. Barb will be remembered for many things, including her "deep as the ocean" blue eyes, generosity of heart, quick wit and ineffable sense of humor. She led a life guided by her deep and abiding faith in God. While Barb will be deeply missed, she will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and will be fondly remembered for her countless acts of loving generosity.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and by her partner of many years, Alice Temm.
She is survived by her son, Thomas A. Stribling of Fairview Heights, Illinois; and by other close friends and family.
Friends and family may call at 11 a.m. for visitation Sept. 4 at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau
A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be interred beside her beloved mother at Bell Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
