Barbara Shelton, 78, of Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 12, 1940, in Thebes, Illinois, to Edward and Lura Coplin Foutch. She married Thurman L. Shelton Jr. on March 4, 1960. He preceded her in death March 18, 2008...

Barbara Shelton, 78, of Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 12, 1940, in Thebes, Illinois, to Edward and Lura Coplin Foutch. She married Thurman L. Shelton Jr. on March 4, 1960. He preceded her in death March 18, 2008.

Barbara is survived by a son, Tracy Shelton; two brothers, Earnest (Carolyn) Stevenson and J.P. (Charlotte) Foutch; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and five brothers.

Family and friends may begin gathering at 10 a.m. Friday in the banquet facility at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau for a time of remembrance.

The family will host a meal to celebrate Barbara's life at noon Friday at the funeral home.

Cremation rites will be accorded.
