Barbara Carolyn Kester, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born March 8, 1927, in Bells, Tenn., daughter of William H. and Donna Mae Faulkner Arnold. She and George H. Kester were married Nov. 5, 1948, in Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 28, 1995.
Kester was a graduate of Steele High School. She worked as a clerk in a local drugstore in her early 20s. She had lived in Scott City about 40 years, and was a member of Broadway Methodist Church. She moved to Cape Girardeau about 10 years ago.
She is survived by three sons, George "Donnie" Kester of Dutchtown, Paul "Terry" Kester and Marc Alan Kester of Biehle, Mo.; a daughter, Paula C. Minks of Beaufort, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
