SIKESTON, Mo. -- Barbara M. Johnson, 84, of Sikeston died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Portland, Ore., daughter of Leonard and Mabel Neeley Moore. She and Dr. Howard B. Johnson were married Jan. 26, 1941, at Vancouver, Wash. He died June 13, 1990.
Johnson was a member and elder of the First Christian Church in Sikeston, a member of Chapter HB of the PEO Sisterhood and was a Boy and Girl Scout leader. She was a Gray Lady at Missouri Delta Medical Center and president of the Women's Civic Club in Sikeston.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas Johnson of Jackson, Paul Johnson of Sikeston, Dr. Dennis Nelson of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Diana Boston of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Bob Moore of Hillsboro, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Allen Shriver will officiate. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
