Barbara Head

PAINTON, Mo. -- Barbara Head, 73, of Painton passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill, Missouri.

She was born June 22, 1940, daughter of Luther Cox and Irene King. She and Denver Head were married Sept. 11, 1958, in Advance, Missouri. He preceded her in death in November 2004.

Barbara was a member of A Frame Church in Bell City, Missouri. She retired from Wal-Mart in Cape Girardeau, where she worked 19 years.

Survivors include four brothers, Eugene Cox of Wappapello, Missouri, Dale Cox of Marietta, Georgia, J.L. Cox of Fairfield, Illinois, and David Cox of Hawaii; four sisters, Linda Cox of St. Louis, Donna Lashley of Jackson, Millie Vandeven of Leopold, Missouri, and Rita Cox of Bell City.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Ronnie and Larry Cox; and three sisters, Nancy Kinder, Mary Mier and Becky Cox.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ted Stone officiating.
