JACKSON, Mo. -- Barbara R. Harper, 55, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the scene of an automobile accident on Route B near Park Hills, Mo. Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. ...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Barbara R. Harper, 55, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the scene of an automobile accident on Route B near Park Hills, Mo.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Park Lawn Cemetery on Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis. Dr. Jack W. Eyestone, district superintendent of the Missouri Church of the Nazarene, and the Rev. Gene Grate of the First Church of the Nazarene in Colorado Springs, Colo., will officiate.

Barbara was born Jan. 13, 1945, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She and the Rev. Kenneth Harper were married Dec. 1, 1962. He survives.

Other loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Steven Craig and Robin Harper of Boise, Idaho; her mother and stepfather, Odean "Deanie" and Glen Harper of Jackson; and a sister, Karen Dubois, who is doing mission work in India.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rector Lloyd Dubois.

Barbara gave her all to her Lord, Jesus Christ, and was a true help mate to her husband in his ministry at the Jackson Church of the Nazarene. She was currently active as an adult Sunday School teacher and was formerly a youth Sunday School teacher. She worked in the children's ministry and sang many specials during worship services.

Barbara was currently an accident, health and disability insurance agent with Combined Insurance Co. She previously worked 12 years in management with Weight Watchers.

Though Barbara is now with the Lord, she will forever be remembered as a loving and faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a true Christian witness.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Jackson Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
