BARBARA GREER

SIKESTON -- Barbara Guthrie Greer, 65, formerly of Valencia and Palm Desert, Calif., and Sikeston, died Nov. 15, 1996 at the Rancho Mirage Health Care Center in Palm Springs.

She was born May 8, 1931, at Belle, Mo., daughter of Winifred Hulen Guthrie, who survives of Sikeston, and the late Robert Logan Guthrie.

She taught school for 26 years. Her last teaching position was in Las Vegas, Nev.

She was married on Nov. 22, 1949, to Bill Greer who preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1979.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Brenda Greer of Palm Springs, Calif. One brother preceded her in death.

Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Guffie, pastor of First Baptist Church of Sikeston, officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
