Close, 64, died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 28, 1931, at Farmington.

Close served in the Women's Air Force and worked at the Pentagon. She lived in California more than 30 years, moving to Cape Girardeau about two years ago.

Funeral service was held April 17 in Redondo Beach, Calif., with burial in Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Pales Verdes, Calif.
