Barbara Byrum

Barbara Jo Byrum, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 11, 2022, at Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born May 29, 1946, in East Prairie to Robert and Bessie Chailland Marshall.

She graduated from East Prairie High School.

Barbara worked for AT&T, North Western Mutual and La Croix United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bart (Shanna) Byrum; daughter, Susan (Ron) Gilliland; sister, Robbie Eastman; five grandchildren, Landon, Trenton and Mason Byrum of Jackson, Ashlee and Avery Gilliland of Jackson; and two stepgrandchildren, Blythe and Braelynn Moore of Jackson.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Van Marshall, Charles Marshall, Inez Marshall, Evelyn Marshall, Edward Marshall, John Marshall, Peggy Adkisson and Herbert Marshall.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at the church with the Rev. Brett Cheek officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice, La Croix Methodist Church and Retrieving Freedom.
