MCCLURE, Ill. -- Barbara J. Bailey, 63, of McClure died Monday, June 6, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Cairo, Illinois, to Alguquine and Ruby (Bridges) May.
Barbara was a tireless hard worker. She enjoyed gardening and loved children. She was always willing to help anyone who was in need. She was a true blessing to her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Nunnally of Cape Girardeau and Brandi Stokes of Paducah, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Amanda Dorris, Brieanna Barnett, Preston Nunnally and Miracle and Xavier Stokes; a sister, Willa Simmons of McClure; two brothers, Robert (Cindy) May and Thomas (Penny) May, both of Thebes, Illinois; her best friends, Tammy (David) Dabbs of Jackson and Jo Ann (Randy) Dain of Olive Branch, Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dixie Reed, Linda Bevens and Diane Hammond; and five brothers, Ronnie, Cecil James, Leonard, Jackie and Patrick May.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services for Barbara Bailey will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
