Barbara Jean Allen, 80, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Charleston, Missouri, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 5, 1941, at Cairo, Illinois, to the late Berle Duncan and Annette Baugh Duncan. She had lived in St. Louis several years and returned to Charleston where she was employed with Boomland until her retirement.
On Jan. 18, 1957, she married James E. Allen Sr., who preceded her in death Jan. 30, 2010.
Surviving is her son, James E. Allen Jr., of St. Charles, Missouri; daughters, Theresa (Kevin) Garrison of Benton, Missour, Terri Cross of Charleston, Evelyn (William) McWhirter of Charleston and Barbi Allen McElrath of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne Fisher; grandson, Zachary; and great-grandson, Roland Zane.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Steve Vester will officiate. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Allen, Tony Allen, Michael Johnson, Kenny Allen Jr., Dylan Cross and Logan Allen.
