Barbara Ann Compton, 50, 2031 Allen, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1992, at her home. She was born Oct. 10, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Stanley and Lorena Dalton Whitson. She graduated from the School of the Ozarks. From 1972-80 she taught special education at Central High School, and was head of the G.E.D. program at Cape Girardeau Vo-Tech School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital...

Barbara Ann Compton, 50, 2031 Allen, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1992, at her home.

She was born Oct. 10, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Stanley and Lorena Dalton Whitson. She graduated from the School of the Ozarks.

From 1972-80 she taught special education at Central High School, and was head of the G.E.D. program at Cape Girardeau Vo-Tech School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Rand and Richard Compton; a daughter, Lori Blattner; her father; a brother, Mike Whitson; a sister, Jeanie Haertling, all of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Church. The Rev. Jerry Statler will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
