PATTON -- Avis T. Yount, 84, of Granite City, Ill., died Sunday, April 19, 1992, at St. Elizabeth Hospital there.
She was born Nov. 21, 1907, at White Oak, daughter of Ed and Sarah Overall Evans. She married Jesse Yount Feb. 7, 1925.
Yount was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; seven sons, Thomas Yount of Roodhouse, Ill., Jim Yount of Potosi, J.A. Yount of Arnold, Jerry Yount of Walls, Miss., John Yount of Richardson, Texas, Franklin Yount of Tucson, Ariz., Larry Yount of DeSoto; two daughters, Eithel Wallace of Granite City, Wanda Faulkner of Carlsbad, Calif.; 29 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Patton. The Rev. Fred Boatright will officiate, with burial in Liberty Cemetery near Marquand.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. today.
