Ava Emerson

Ava Allene Emerson, 93, of Morley, Mo., died Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Mo. She was born Oct. 27, 1913, at Maynard, Ark., daughter of Alph and Gussie Johnston Evans. She married Jim Mac Emerson Jan. 21, 1939 in Blytheville, Ark. He died April 5, 1991.

She is survived by a daughter, Reda Ann Frohock of Bridgeton, Mo.; a brother, Sid Evans of Affton, Mo.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, three sisters and a grandchild.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, Mo.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Old Morley Cemetery in Morley, Mo.
