AUSTIN HALTERMAN

ANNA, Ill. -- Austin Halterman, 91, of Anna died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill.

He was born July 23, 1909, in Anna, son of Daniel and Maude Williams Halterman. He and Hazel Peeler were married Nov. 2, 1936. She died March 15, 1992. He later married Violet Kerley April 27, 1995.

Halterman was a 1928 graduate of Anna High School and 1933 graduate of Southern Illinois University.

He was a salesman with Continental Bakery 33 years. He was a member of Anna Lodge 520 AF&AM and 43rd Avenue Presbyterian Church in Gary, Ind. He attended Camp Ground Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Halterman of Crown Point, Ind.; a daughter, Linda Krueger of Dale, Texas; a stepdaughter, Sandy Boaz of Anna; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. Monday. Masonic service will be at 7.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Camp Ground Church, with the Rev. Bill Darnell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
