Augustus Stephen Davis, 70, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at his home.
He was born June 19, 1940, at Greenville, Miss., to Calvin and Rebecca Sharp Davis. He and Katherine Ann Jacobsen were married Nov. 21, 1983.
Davis entered the U.S. Air Force in January 1959. He served in Vietnam and became a career military man, retiring in January 1979 as a fire protection supervisor with the rank of tech sergeant.
He later worked at Rubbermaid in Jackson, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include his wife, "Kat," and son, Augustus W. Davis, both of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to time of service Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cape Girardeau. A memorial service, followed by military honors, will begin at 11 a.m. at the church.
Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
