August Wingerter

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- August W. "Gus" Wingerter, 87, of Perryville died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Dec. 17, 1915, at Biehle, Mo., son of Theodore and Theresa Pingel Wingerter. He and Ileen M. Hoffman were married July 31, 1937.

Wingerter retired as a security guard at Menard Prison.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Margery Tucker of Perryville; two sons, Terry and Robert Wingerter of Perryville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, six sisters and a grandson.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Sunday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Cox officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
