AUGUST J. ASMUS

CHAFFEE -- August Joseph Asmus, 64, of Chaffee, died Monday, Dec. 12, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 22, 1930, at Oran, son of Adam and Frances Margaret Wiedefeld Asmus. He and Myra June Darby Miskell were married April 9, 1976.

Asmus retired as a machinist with Florsheim Shoe Co. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and its Men's Club, and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 at Oran.

Survivors include his wife; five stepdaughters, Paula Stidham and Emily Eichhorn of Chaffee, Kathy Schetter of Sikeston, Tammy Erlbacher of Delta, Della Eggimann of Florissant; two brothers, Sylvester Asmus of Chaffee, Alfred Asmus of Oran; two sisters, Marjorie LeGrand and Agnes Landewee of Oran; 11 stepgrandchildren, and four great-stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 5 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6:30, and KC rosary at 7:30.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
