SCOTT CITY -- Arvella Mary Long, 84, of Scott City, died Thursday, Jan 14, 1993, at Cape LaCroix in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 19, 1908, at Kelso, daughter of John and Anna Hess Sailer. She and Charles Arthur Long were married May 28, 1945. He died May 2, 1965...

SCOTT CITY -- Arvella Mary Long, 84, of Scott City, died Thursday, Jan 14, 1993, at Cape LaCroix in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 19, 1908, at Kelso, daughter of John and Anna Hess Sailer. She and Charles Arthur Long were married May 28, 1945. He died May 2, 1965.

Long was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and VFW Auxiliary 6407.

Survivors include a sister, Eva Sailer of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Roger Leveillee will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 5 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7.
