STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Arthur F. Petry, 89, of Ste. Genevieve, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 27, 1914, in Evansville, Ill., son of Albert and Frances Wolff Petry.
He and Loretta P. Oberste were married Oct. 14, 1952., at St. Vincent's Church in Cape Girardeau. She survives.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1037 in Ste. Genevieve and worked at Wulfers-Petry Furniture in Farmington, Mo., for 18 years. He owned and operated Petry Furniture in Ste. Genevieve from 1963 to 1982.
Other survivors include a son, Thomas W. Petry of Wildwood, Mo.; a daughter, Judy A. Heidlage of Columbia, Mo.; a foster sister, Ruth Evans of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, a brother, two half sisters, a half brother, a foster brother, and William and Anna Campbell, who raised him.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Ste. Genevieve with the Rev. Daniel Mosley officiating. Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery.
