CHAFFEE -- Arthur Adolph Meyr, 86, of Chaffee died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 21, 1910, at Uniontown, the son of Adolph and Luria Mueller Meyr.
He married Vera Clara Schoen on April 12, 1936. She died Aug. 18, 1984.
He was a retired store clerk and had worked at the Chaffee IGA store.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
He had lived at Chaffee since 1939, moving there from Cape Girardeau. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee and Chaffee American Legion Post 389.
He is survived by three brothers, Elmer Meyr, Walter Meyr and Harry Meyr, all of St. Louis; and four sisters, Rita Cornelius of Perryville, Alma Klattenhoff of Albuquerque, N.M., and Olga Perwilliger and Bertha Brockman, both of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow presiding. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
