Memorial service for Arthur Mehrle Jr. of Houston, Texas, was held Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Garrett Wingfield officiating.
Mehrle, 69, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1993, in a Houston hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Cape Girardeau. He graduated from Tulane University, attended Chrysler School of Management in Detroit, Mich., and the School of Business Management in Oxford, England.
Mehrle had been an area executive with Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, and later founded Chemical Executive Search. He was also involved in volunteerism in Houston, and helped found the Lord of the Streets Episcopal Church. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
He served various institutions and received numerous awards.
Survivors include a son, John Mehrle of Aurora, Ind., two daughters, Nancy Baskett of Evansville, Ind., Jeanie Hitchcock of Ithica, N.Y.; a brother, Kenneth G. Mehrle of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.
