Arthur "Max" Frederick, 97, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Feb. 6, 1995, at the Lutheran Home. He was born Nov. 25, 1897, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Otto and Ernestine Christine Thieneman Friedrich. He married Rose Thomas, who died Sept. 18, 1965. Arthur "Max" Frederick, 97, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Feb. 6, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Nov. 25, 1897, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Otto and Ernestine Christine Thieneman Friedrich. He married Rose Thomas, who died Sept. 18, 1965. He later married Nellie Spencer, who also preceded him in death.

Frederick was a retired ironworker and member of Ironworkers Local 272.

Survivors include four nieces, Lou Flood of Cape Girardeau, Lorraine Frederick and Marian Becker of Collinsville, Ill., Gerry Wagnon of Godfrey, Ill., and a nephew, Herman Frederick of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

There is no visitation.

A private memorial service will be held later.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

The body was donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine.
