CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral service for Arthur Fields of Cairo will be held at 1 p.m. today at Algee Memorial Chapel. The Rev. A.M. Brooks will officiate, with burial in Spencer Heights Memorial Park at Mounds.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.
Fields, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1992, at Carbondale Health Care.
He was born May 4, 1902, in Augusta, Ark. He and Corrine Johnson were married in 1954 in Arkansas. She preceded him in death.
Fields had been a cook with barge lines, and a farm laborer.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Reed of Cairo; two sisters, Irene Hicks and Corrine Gibbs of Cairo, and a grandson.
