SIKESTON -- Arthur B. Ziegenhorn, 71, of Sikeston died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Independence to Charles G. and Minnie V. Dunker Ziegenhorn.
He was mayor of Sikeston from 1970-71 and served 12 years on the Sikeston City Council.
He was a commercial real estate developer and co-owner of the Garage Door Co. of Sikeston. He formerly co-owned Sikeston Imperial Bowling Lanes and Ziegenhorn Construction Co.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston.
He was veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Ruth A. Collins on Nov. 30, 1947, in Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David A. Ziegenhorn of Sikeston; two daughters, Cynthia G. Waldron of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Rebecca A. Ziegenhorn of Springfield; a brother, Keith Ziegenhorn of Sikeston; two sisters, Helen Daniels and Dorothy Pratt, both of Sikeston; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three infant children and a brother.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dr. Jim Guffie and Billie Fair officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
