Private family service will celebrate the life of Artalee Celeste Roberts, 70, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
She passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, with her family by her side.
The daughter of Davis Wingate and Alice Bell Vanpool Eaton, Artalee grew up and attended school in her birth community of Piedmont, Missouri -- Peachtree schools in her elementary years and Clearwater High School until her graduation with the class of 1961.
Artalee and Samuel Turnbough married shortly after her graduation. The two shared the joys of parenting two daughters, Kimberly and Karen. They made their home in St. Louis through the years.
Later, Artalee and William Crews were married and the joy of motherhood continued as she became the proud mother of another daughter, Chris, and her only son, Jeffrey.
After being widowed, Artalee worked hard to provide well for her family. She was in Piedmont much of the time, where she worked as a waitress in local restaurants.
When there was time just for relaxing, Artalee embraced life with joy. She loved having fun adventures with her family and friends. Las Vegas was a favorite destination. She was able to hear lots of Elvis music while there, and she loved Elvis all throughout her life. Her loving and outgoing personality was a treasure in her life and will be deeply missed by her treasured family.
Survivors include three daughters, Kim Turnbough-Irey and husband Roger, Karen Dunn, and Chris Akin and husband Tom; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a grandchild.
Rice Funeral Service in Claremore, Oklahoma, has been entrusted with her care.
