SIKESTON -- Arpa Hill Lewis, 97, of Sikeston, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1901, at East Prairie, daughter of T.M. (Dick) and Mary Rankin Hill. She and Orbra W. Lewis were married Dec. 27, 1973.
Lewis was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She had taught in East Prairie public schools for several years, and was a member of the SEMO Retired Teachers Association and the Copper Dome Society. Lewis was a member of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, where she had been a resident since 1974.
Survivors include two stepsons, Jack R. Lewis of Sikeston, and Joe Lewis of Kansas City; a stepdaughter, Laura Sherman of Sikeston; several stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, and a brother.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jerry Willer will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
