Anna , Ill. -- Arnold M. Rector, 79, of Anna died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born June 14, 1926, in Neely's Landing, Mo., son of Albert and Florence Dennison Rector. He and Mary Delores Linton were married on July 16, 1949, in Jonesboro.
Rector was a veteran and POW during World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW in Anna. He was employed at the Lutz Marble Co. in Anna and later retired from Holcomb Welding Co. after 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Sue Simmons of Dongola, Linda Brown of Dongola, Brenda Swisher of Marion and Barbara Muhlbraier of Lake Station, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two great-grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Revs. Jack Richardson and Bobby Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Anna cemetery with military honors at the grave by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW in Anna.
