Arlene Rae Grantham, 78, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Patton, Mo., daughter of the late John Columbus and Willie Marie Grindstaff Doggett. She and Kirby Grantham Jr. were married Aug. 26, 1951. He passed away Sept. 16, 1975.
Arlene was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and had been working at Saint Francis more than 35 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. She was a former member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church and Oak Ridge Order of Eastern Star.
Loving survivors include a son, Kirby Ray (Debbie) Grantham of Oak Ridge; two daughters, Mary Kay (Joe David) Frank and Martha Fay (David) Reiminger of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Kirby Thomas Grantham, Kara Grantham, Jason (Natalie) Frank, Jaymie (Chris) Castens, Todd (Cathy) Reiminger, Travis (Tonya) Reiminger and Chad (Hollie Sawyers) Reiminger; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Devin, Nolan, Kaylynn, Connor and Paisley; and a sister-in-law, Mary Doggett of Springfield, Mo.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. John Doggett and David Doggett; a sister, Geraldine Seabaugh; and a granddaughter, Kelli Sue Grantham.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating.
Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
