MOREHOUSE -- Argus Bradley Carter, 64, of Morehouse, died Saturday, July 20, 1996, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, following a heart attack.
He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Lamar, Ark., son of Bradley and Annie Grace Carter. He and Maggie Ann Nelson were married June 21, 1952, in Sikeston.
Carter had been employed at Hart's Bakery 15 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Carter of Sikeston; three daughters, Sandra Duncan, Sheryl Abernathy and Elizabeth Gaines of Morehouse; four brothers, Ernest Carter of Grand Prairie, Texas, Delmar Carter of Vanduser, Doyle Carter of Snohomish, Wash., Wayne Carter of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Eunice Hudnall of Blackstone, Va., Opal Brashears of Morehouse, Wanda Higdon of Snohomish, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
