EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Archie Robin Skaggs of East Prairie will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Larry Smith will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.

Skaggs, 53, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1996, at his home, following a brief illness.

He was born May 23, 1942, in New Madrid County, son of Lee Dawson and Alma Woodruff Skaggs. He and Joyce Elaine Patterson were married Nov. 15, 1969.

Skaggs was employed by Boatman's Captain Union in St. Louis. He was a member of First Church of God in East Prairie, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mindy Wallace of East Prairie; a brother, Bill Skaggs of East Prairie; a sister, Norma Marshall of Charleston, and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
