April Burger
April Carol Burger, 42, of Scott City left this world Feb. 19, 2009.
She was born March 11, 1966, in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of Leroy "Bobby" and Brenda Tatum Evans of Cape Girardeau.
She and Scott Burger were married Feb. 14, 1987, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo.
She was a stay-at-home mom and worked as a self-employed website designer and at Toys-R-Us. Burger previously worked at Hecht's clothing store, the Southeast Missourian and RM Coco, and owned an in-home day care where she guided the lives of many children.
Over the past eight years she was involved with the Scott City Youth League as a coach and a friend to players all and a Girl Scout Leader for Troop Nos. 51 and 271. Her life consisted of working with area youth, bringing her much happiness seeing them grow and prosper.
She joined St. Augustine Catholic Church in 1987 and was a member of St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary No. 6420.
Survivors include her husband Scott; two daughters, Libby and Becky Burger of the home and Jens Bohm of Hofheim, Germany, currently living in the home as a foreign exchange student, and one foreign exchange daughter, Maja Teglgaard Nordtug of Hald, Denmark, and her parents.
Other survivors include her mother and father-in-law, Ron and Karen Burger of Scott City; sister-in-law, Tammy Cotner of Scott City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Adam and Nicky Burger of Jackson; and two nieces and two nephews.
She was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:45 p.m.
The funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church, with the Revs. Oliver Clavin and Oscar Lukefahr officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
