OAKVILLE, Mo. -- Anna Teresa Maher, 88, of Oakville died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Nazareth Living Center, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born Aug. 18, 1919, in Norristown, Pa., daughter of John and Bridget McGuire of Ireland. She and Charles J. Maher were married 64 years. He preceded her in death...

OAKVILLE, Mo. -- Anna Teresa Maher, 88, of Oakville died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Nazareth Living Center, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born Aug. 18, 1919, in Norristown, Pa., daughter of John and Bridget McGuire of Ireland. She and Charles J. Maher were married 64 years. He preceded her in death.

She is the cherished mother of Susie Minor of St. Louis, Judy (Charles) Bender of Colonial Heights, Va., Michael (Lisa) Maher of Vancouver, Wash., Patty Maher of St. Louis, Charles (Louise) Maher of St. Louis, Peter (Cindy) Maher of Cape Girardeau, Anna (Bahij) Jada of Lake Oswego, Ore.; loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her love of Irish heritage and undying devotion to her husband and family.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road (at Butler Hill).

Funeral Mass will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday in the chapel at Nazareth Living Center, 2 Nazareth Lane in St. Louis. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
