ANNA I. BRITTON

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Anna I. Britton, 84, of Mounds, died Wednesday, May 10, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born April 11, 1911, in Union County, daughter of Willis "Chub" and Mary Kinder Cruse. She married John E. Britton, who died in 1981.

Britton had been a dietitian at Egyptian High School in Tamms, self-employed caterer with Cairo Elks Lodge, and operated Ann's Tea Room in Mounds many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mounds. She helped start the Smiles 1 Senior Citizens programs in Mounds and Cairo.

Survivors include a daughter, Dea Ann Walsh of Mounds; two sons, John Britton Jr. of Mounds, Larry Britton of Anna; two sisters, Helen Mock of Mounds, Ruth Bryant of Cairo; a brother, Harold Cruse of Jensen Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. F. Jerry Herring officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
