Anna Elizabeth Essary Wright, 89, formerly of Charleston, died Friday, June 6, 1997 at the Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 2, 1907, in Mississippi County, daughter of Thomas "Ress" and Mable Christine Johnson Essary. She and Jacob Merle Wright were married on March 21, 1927. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston, the Daughters of Isabella, and was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors are four sons, Jacob "Jack" Wright of Chaffee, Thomas S. Wright of Jefferson City, Charles Wright of Searcy, Ark., and William "Bill" Wright of Brentwood; two daughters, Peggy Berbling of Topeka, Kan., and Pat Frayser of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Lawrence Quertermous of Cobden, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Rich Lause as celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
