OLMSTED, Ill. -- Anna Belle Atherton, 95, of Olmsted died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at her home. She was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Elco, Ill., to George W. and Estelle Thompson Tanksley. She and Jessie O. Atherton were married April 2, 1932, in Mound City, Ill. He preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1981...

OLMSTED, Ill. -- Anna Belle Atherton, 95, of Olmsted died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at her home.

She was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Elco, Ill., to George W. and Estelle Thompson Tanksley. She and Jessie O. Atherton were married April 2, 1932, in Mound City, Ill. He preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1981.

Atherton was of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include a son, Alfred M. (Wanda) Atherton of Villa Ridge, Ill.; five daughters, Mary (Lewis) Watson of Olmsted, Martha (Jim) Qualls of Grand Chain, Ill., Emma (Rusty) Dakin of Mounds, Ill., Frances (Mike) McAllister of Jackson, Kay (Tommy) Albright of Mounds; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Jessie Olen Jr.; a grandson, Derek Albright; two sisters, Birdie Huffman and Blanche Dallas; three brothers, Freeman, Cecil and Alfred Tanksley.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, Ill.

The funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Kelley officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Rose Hill Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
