Anna A. Dittlinger, 81, 1124 S. Ellis, died Sunday, June 9, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Jan. 15, 1910, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Albert C. and Huldah C. Erickson Dittlinger. Dittlinger received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University, a master's degree in zoology from the University of Michigan, and did post-graduate work at the University of Missouri...

Anna A. Dittlinger, 81, 1124 S. Ellis, died Sunday, June 9, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 15, 1910, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Albert C. and Huldah C. Erickson Dittlinger.

Dittlinger received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University, a master's degree in zoology from the University of Michigan, and did post-graduate work at the University of Missouri.

She taught biology, English and art 29 years at Milford Township High School in Milford, Ill., and was a senior class sponsor most of that time. She retired in 1970 and moved back to Cape Girardeau.

Dittlinger was a member of First Presbyterian Church; Order of the Eastern Star; member, current vice president and past president of Wednesday Club. She has had papers in zoology published internationally, and a paper on the Lamprey eel was published in Belgium.

Survivors include a brother, Albert Dittlinger of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Laura Eakins of Sikeston; a niece, Patricia Newman of Sikeston; two nephews, Eric Dittlinger and Randy Eakins of Sikeston; two great-nieces; two great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Miller, in 1985.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Charles Grant will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. today.
