Ann E. Shrum, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis. She was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Biehle, Missouri to Christian and Frieda Leible Renner. She and Jim Shrum were married Aug. 22, 1959, at St. Joseph's Church in Apple Creek. She and Jim lived in Cape Girardeau since 1959...

Ann E. Shrum, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis.

She was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Biehle, Missouri to Christian and Frieda Leible Renner. She and Jim Shrum were married Aug. 22, 1959, at St. Joseph's Church in Apple Creek. She and Jim lived in Cape Girardeau since 1959.

Ann graduated from Cape Beauty School in 1958. She was a lifelong beautician. She also worked for the Cape Girardeau Public School System for 25 years.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Dan) Keusenkothen and Kara Shrum of St. Louis; two sons, Rick Shrum of Houston, Texas and Chris (Sherri) Shrum of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren, John (Alicia) and Joseph (Sarah) Keusenkothen, Jenna (Stephen III) Bonazinca, Katie (Dolly) Shrum, Ali (Anthony) Grasso, Michael, Eric, Sean and Sam Keusenkothen, and Kristen, Natalie and Emily Shrum; great-grandchildren, Addy, S.J. IV and Emmy Bonazinca, Mason Grasso, Emery and Olivia Keusenkothen; sisters, Theresa Webb, Leola Bock and Sharon Schnurbusch, all of Perryville, Missouri and Rita Kohlfeld of St. Charles, Missouri; brothers, Jerome Renner and Paul Renner of Perryville and Allen Renner of Blue Springs, Missouri; sister-in-law, Jean Gilliland of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Shrum, her parents and one brother, Gilbert Renner.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 until the time of service on Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at noon Thursday with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Private entombment will take place at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Mary's Food Pantry, 615 William Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703 or masses.
