Ann Mae Phelps, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at her home. She was born Oct. 3, 1917, at Neelys Landing, daughter of Ruddle and Letha Noland Miller. She first married Earl C. Davidson Sept. 16, 1939, at Benton, Mo. He died Jan. 27, 1975. She and Henry Phelps were married Nov. 24, 1978, in Cape Girardeau...

Ann Mae Phelps, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at her home.

She was born Oct. 3, 1917, at Neelys Landing, daughter of Ruddle and Letha Noland Miller. She first married Earl C. Davidson Sept. 16, 1939, at Benton, Mo. He died Jan. 27, 1975. She and Henry Phelps were married Nov. 24, 1978, in Cape Girardeau.

Phelps worked in a munitions factory in St. Louis during World War II, where torpedoes were made. She had operated a comptometer, and worked at Cooper's Men's Store. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Daniel Phelps of Cape Girardeau, John Phelps of Huntersville, N.C., Daniel Davidson of St. Louis; four daughters, Julia Glastetter of Cape Girardeau, Betty Hellige of St. Louis, Donna Johnstone of Palmdale, Calif., Nancy Underwood of Jackson; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
