FLORISSANT, Mo. — Ann Bridges Hollenberg of Florissant passed away peacefully surrounded by family and dear friends Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.
Elnora Ann Bridges was born Sept. 12, 1953, in Cairo, Ill., to Opal Grah Bridges and the late Otis T. Bridges.
She was a 1971 graduate of Central High School and 1979 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, both in Cape Girardeau.
After college she first worked at Colonial Bank in Des Peres, Mo. In 1982 she became one of the founding employees of Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (MOHELA) and rose to the position of vice president.
Ann married the love of her life, Neil Hollenberg, Sept. 22, 1984. Her pride and joy were her two sons, Richie (special friend Kelly Emshoff) and Luke.
She and her family enjoyed traveling and spent many memorable times at their place at Lake of the Ozarks.
She is survived by her husband; sons; her mother, Opal Bridges Horsley; grandfather, Les Grah; brothers, Tom (Kathy) Bridges and Dan (Vicki) Bridges; parents-in-law, Richard and Lee Hollenberg; brother-in-law, Jim (Arbie) Hollenberg; sister-in-law, Nancee Gohn; nieces and nephews, Lynne, Eric, Lesley (Joe), John Thomas and Morgan; and several aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ron, and beloved grandmother, Elnora "Granny" Grah.
Visitation will be at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, Mo., from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral celebration will be at Hutchens Mortuary at 11 a.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the charity or organization of the giver's choice.
