SHAWNEETOWN -- Funeral service for Anita Wilma Striler of Wright City was held Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. The Rev. Richard LaBore officiated, with burial in the church cemetery.
Nieburg-Martin Funeral Home of Warrenton was in charge of arrangements.
Striler, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at Doctors Hospital in Wentzville.
She was born June 28, 1905, at Shawneetown, daughter of Ernst Frederick William, and Amelia Schuppan Vogel. She and Joseph Roy Striler were married March 9, 1924. He died Dec. 6, 1969.
Striler worked at Goldes Department Store many years, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Warrenton.
After retiring the Strilers moved from St. Louis to Frohna, and were active in the community, church and Historial Society of Frohna. She later moved to Cape Girardeau and then back to Warrenton.
Survivors include a son, Lee Striler of Fort Myers, Fla.; a daughter, Jean Siebold of Wright City; a sister, Elsa Heider of Lake St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.
