ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Anita Hulda Koestering Fischer, 91, peacefully entered into eternal rest Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008.
She was born Dec. 1, 1916, the last of five children of the Rev. Emanuel and Katie Tuegel Koestering in New Minden, Ill. All have preceded her in death.
Anita graduated from Nashville High School in 1934, Mac Murray College in 1936, and received a bachelor's degree from Washington University in 1938. She spent 20 years teaching English and drama in Illinois.
She and Julius Elmer "Doc" Klosterman were married May 25, 1955. Kathryn Elnita Klosterman was born to this union. Elmer preceded her in death in 1958. Anita married Dr. Theodore Fischer June 9, 1960, and moved to Altenburg, where she resided 33 years. Theodore preceded her in death in 1986.
In 1993 Anita moved to Gambrill Gardens, a retirement community in Ellisville, Mo., then moved to Houston, Texas, in 2004 to live near her daughter and family.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Kathy Miesner, Kathy's husband Tom, and their children Ella, Emilie and Theo.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time March 14 at Buchholz Funeral Home, 2211 Clarkson Road (at Wilson), Chesterfield, Mo.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. March 14 at the funeral home. Interment will be in New Bethlehem Cemetery
