BENTON, Mo. -- Angie Mae Lawless, 87, of Benton died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1925, in Fairdealing, Mo., to Charles and Erma Helvy Dunlap. She and James Lawless were married Aug. 19, 1941, at Naylor, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, where she was very active. She taught young girls in Sunday school for more than 50 years. Angie also loved gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin (Karen) Lawless of Jackson and Larry Lawless of Durand, Wis.; a daughter, Elaine (James) Rikoon of Columbia, Mo.; and two sisters, Dessie Mirt of Springfield, Mo., and Virginia Medling of Poplar Bluff, Mo. Angie also is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James; her son, Stan; her granddaughter, Mischelle Lawless; her parents; one brother; and seven sisters.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton.
