Angelia Dawn Cook, 56, of Scott City died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at her home. She was born Sept. 3, 1960, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Jesse Eugene and Elizabeth Harbour Slawson Strickland. Angelia Dawn Cook, 56, of Scott City died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at her home.

She was born Sept. 3, 1960, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Jesse Eugene and Elizabeth Harbour Slawson Strickland. She married Vyron Garnett Cook on Dec. 4, 2010.

Dawn worked at Blair Industries, Thorngate and Saint Francis Medical Center. She was a member of Cape First in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by her husband, Vyron Cook; a daughter, Amber Dawn Holder of Granite City, Illinois; three sons, Travis Holder of Desert Palm Springs, California, Eric (Casey) Holder of Kelso, Missouri, and Stephen (Shauna) Cook of Houston; two brothers, Shannon (Brenda) Strickland of Oran, Missouri, and Kirk (Julie) Strickland of Jackson; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Rick Holder.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
