Amy Nell Steck, 83, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at Jackson Manor.
She was born April 19, 1919, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of Lyman and Bertha Yount Bridges. She and Milde G. Steck were married Oct. 22, 1961. He passed away Aug. 19, 1990.
Amy Nell attended the former Lutesville High School. She had worked at the former Munitions Arms in St. Louis, International Shoe Co., and Hosiery Mill in Jackson.
She was a charter member of Scopus United Methodist Church. After she and Milde were married she became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and was a member of its Esther-Hannah Circle. She was also a member of Ladies Auxiliary for Rural Letter Carriers.
Loving survivors include a niece, Shirley Eakins of Marble Hill, Mo.; a great-nephew, Donald G. Eakins of St. Louis; a brother-in-law, Charles Steck and wife Bernice of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Betty Holly of Chesterfield, Mo.; several cousins, great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a sister, a sister-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Grant Gillard will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
