SIKESTON, Mo. -- Amos Lamar Scott, 75, of Sikeston died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Russellville, Ark., son of Bleve and Ruth Morphis Scott. He and Mary Grace Leigh were married Oct. 25, 1947.

Scott lived in Sikeston most of his life. He retired from ABF Trucking Co. in Cape Girardeau in 1985. He was a member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Gloria Crowley, Bobbye Hooper and Mary Scott, all of Sikeston; two brothers, Troy Scott of Charleston, Mo., Bill Scott of O'Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Jeanette Holt and Bobbye Chambers of Charleston; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Delbert Bishop officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, with military rites by Missouri Military Honors Program.
