EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Amelia Nancy Burns, 92, of East Prairie died Monday, March 19, 2001, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born March 2, 1909, near East Prairie, daughter of Frank and Etta Colston Loomis. She and Herman Edward Burns were married April 5, 1930, in New Madrid, Mo. He died July 31, 1974.
Burns was a seamstress many years at Prairie Manufacturing. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include a son, Radean Burns of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Smith of St. James, Mo., Frankie Medlin of Wake Forest, N.C.; a brother, Thomas Loomas of East Prairie; two sisters, Mae Kersey and Margaret Ward of East Prairie; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a great-grandson, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Joe Hill officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
